What's Our Mission ?

We are a people called by God to be the Church of Jesus Christ in our place and time.
Our mission--as persons, as families, as parishes, and as the Abundant Life Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF)--is to respond to God's call with personal commitment and communal action.

God calls us to proclaim the life-giving and hope-giving good news of the Gospel.
Our mission is to proclaim the truth of Christ by what we say and by what we do.

God calls us to serve the world, that is, all our brothers and sisters whom God loves and for whom Christ died. Our mission is to reflect upon our Judeo-Christian heritage, to discern the most pressing needs of society, and to utilize our resources in order to meet them. We are called to respect the dignity of every person and to hold all institutions, both secular and religious, accountable for justice. We are called to heal the wounds which divide people, to work for liberation from oppression, and to cooperate with all people of good will, especially other Christians and Jews.

God calls us to live a life of community in the Holy Spirit. Our mission is to build a community based on forgiveness of one another, caring for each other, bearing one another's burdens, personal prayer, and sacramental worship. Individuals are called to a wide variety of ministries which build up the body of Christ.

Bob Leitner and Answered Prayer - hooray!

and Praise the LORD!
I just talked to Bob (2:30 Saturday) and he even answered the phone.
He said that a half hour after the prayer gathering, the doctor came in and said how good he looked! He said his blood count had gone up substantially and that even though Bob still requires a CT scan (they still don't know what's wrong), they released him to go home for better rest. (Who can sleep in a hospital!?)
Bob sounds good, although a little weak, but he was so encouraged by all the folks that were able to come last Thursday!
Praise God, thank you, praise God!
In His Name and to His Glory, Gina H

Bill Moore Prayer Request

Dear Gina
Can you forward to the prayer list our request?
Guenther has probably filled you in by now. My mother who is 86 was coered into signing papers that revoked my Power of Attorney for their care, finances, etc. My mother stated she did not know what she was signing and was following instructions from my sister. she has also indicated that my removal from the Power of Attorney was not what she wanted. Needless to say this will cause problems not only with their home care but also their finances and medical situations. This is the short story version.
Guenther did get a referral from Tim Smith for an attorney who deals with these types of cases and I will be calling him shortly.
Anyway please add my request to the list . I would appreciate it.
God Bless
Bill Moore also Teri
