What's Our Mission ?

We are a people called by God to be the Church of Jesus Christ in our place and time.
Our mission--as persons, as families, as parishes, and as the Abundant Life Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF)--is to respond to God's call with personal commitment and communal action.

God calls us to proclaim the life-giving and hope-giving good news of the Gospel.
Our mission is to proclaim the truth of Christ by what we say and by what we do.

God calls us to serve the world, that is, all our brothers and sisters whom God loves and for whom Christ died. Our mission is to reflect upon our Judeo-Christian heritage, to discern the most pressing needs of society, and to utilize our resources in order to meet them. We are called to respect the dignity of every person and to hold all institutions, both secular and religious, accountable for justice. We are called to heal the wounds which divide people, to work for liberation from oppression, and to cooperate with all people of good will, especially other Christians and Jews.

God calls us to live a life of community in the Holy Spirit. Our mission is to build a community based on forgiveness of one another, caring for each other, bearing one another's burdens, personal prayer, and sacramental worship. Individuals are called to a wide variety of ministries which build up the body of Christ.

Prayer Results from Union Gospel Mission

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share some news and ask you to pray as God puts this on your heart. Last night Dave Clark spoke at the mission, Gerald played piano, Robert did an intro and wrap-up, and I asked people for prayer requests. God was soooo good! 12 people raised their hands to ask Jesus into their hearts. 15 people asked for prayer!

So as you are lead to take a moment, it would be very appreciated if you could take these requests to Jesus.
1. Shermane to have healing as he has been sick for 3 days with a chest cold. He also asks for prayer to hold everything back.
2. Derryl asked for God's help in no more drugs, to fight temptations, to have stronger belief in the Bible, and to have God's strength to go thru trials.
3. Joe T. would like relief from the spirts and souls in the shadows of his life.
4. Jose would like God to help him find a job, one using a forklift if possible.
5. Wes has kidney cancer & needs prayer for God to (re)move pain (strength to go thru the pain).
6. Tony G. would like prayer for his daughter, Tanya, 5 years old who broke her leg.
7. Daniel would like prayer to "do right!".
8. 1st Tyrone would like prayer for his kids, Brandon & Kierra, health and protection.
9. Mike R. asked for prayer for himself and his family.
10. 2nd Tyrone would like prayer for his family, his mom & dad in Michigan as well as his recovery from drugs and alcohol.
11. Dimarcro needs strengthening in keeping the faith.
12. Terry would like his wallet returned with the money and to not loose his apartment.
13. A couple, Robert & Angela, would like prayer for each other at all times.
14. Mom & son would like prayer. Son just lost his son to CPS yesterday.
15. Another couple, Ray & Marentha need help with God's guidance, strength and happiness.
Every time you remember to pray blesses God and blesses them. Again as the Lord leads you in this to pray, thank you.
Your sister in Christ,
Gayla
